Attachable Resources

Management on tap

Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre (AECC)

June 22nd, 2011

I am a non-executive Director on the Board of the largest facility of its type in the north of Scotland. Crucial to the NE economy and the key sectors upon which it depends the AECC is the showcase for talent in every sense – from world class business events and entertainment right across to community activity.

With an extensive background in event creation and management coupled with a interest in wider economic development, I believed that this important venue needs stronger advocacy and greater business input. My role is to support the executive management and staff teams as they deliver the business plan but also to use my influence and personal networks to add value in further commercialising the business.

CHAMBER Advisers Ltd – a new development

May 31st, 2011

Following a successful and ongoing interim project as International Trade Director with the British Chambers of Commerce it was necessary to establish a Limited company to take the work stream forward. CHAMBER Advisers Ltd was formed as the commercial delivery vehicle, however, the Attachable Resources proposition remains the core service offering.

With my unique Chamber experience I also offer a special set of relevant services for the Chamber movement.

Interim project – British Chambers

June 7th, 2010

I have been involved with the British Chambers of Commerce as their International Trade Director (interim) based in their Coventry office since June 2010. This work has involved wide spread engagement with the UK Chamber of Commerce movement, senior Government officials and other key industry stakeholders. Against a backdrop of significant Government spending cuts the Chamber movement is positioning itself as the trusted partner of business in these difficult times.

The project includes the development and implementation of a national trade services  business growth plan and the related development of a network wide International Trade Strategy. The project also includes significant key stakeholder engagement together with operational responsibility for the BCC Trade related Staff  and oversight of the national Export Documentation service.

This project will continue through to Q2, 2012.

Ongoing project – AGILEKM

May 1st, 2009

Since leaving the Chamber of Commerce in April 09 I have been working with a colleague on a business project which is focused on bringing a fully developed Environment, Health and Safety management software solution to the UK oil & gas and emerging Renewable Energy sector. Dr Trevor Runcie, who is a recognised expert in his field, is actively taking forward the new company – AGILE Knowledge Management Ltd.  The company has secured and delivered a complete compliance solution to a major North Sea operator, who now join the company’s global client list.

I have an ongoing involvement and interest in the AgileKM company and provide strategic input and guidance as well as connecting the company and it’s proposition with potential clients.

Geoff Runcie – website

I launched a sister website to this one to provide details on my career achievements and my business background. The website is essentially my online Curriculum Vitae and exists as a resource to allow you to research my background and gain and insight into what I might bring to your business.

Business Mentoring – Scottish Chambers

January 5th, 2009

As part of my ambition to share my hard won experience with younger businesses I joined the Scottish Business Mentoring programme which is operated by Scottish Chambers of Commerce. I have been involved in a number of ‘1 to many’ group mentoring initiatives and continue to mentor several niche SMEs on a 1 to 1 basis.

I provide both strategic input and support to the business owners across a range of typical business issues.
